Conventional Linear Heat Detection cables are designed to trigger a response when the specific temperature is reached. If the temperature surrounding the cable reaches the activation temperature the heat sensitive polymer insulation melts and the two cores quickly come into contact and trigger an alarm via either an Intelligent Monitor Module or Conventional Zone.

Linear Heat detection is commonly used in applications where thermal sensing is required over large distances or where other type of point-type detection is not suitable eg Road and Rail Tunnels, Cable Tunnels and Cable Trays, Warehouse Racking, Conveyor Belts and Escalators.

Cables are flexible, allowing them to be easily installed along conveyor belts, in cable trays or wrapped around fan motors etc.

  • 68ºC - 88ºC Linear Heat Detection Cables are used for general purpose applications and provide chemical resistance for harsher environments.
  • 105ºC PVC Linear Heat Detection Cable is intended for general purpose applications.
  • Nylon Sheath 105ºC Linear Heat Detection Cable - provides chemical resistance for harsher environments.

A distance locating option is also available upon request to measure the distance from the module to where the overheating has occured.

Cables are available in Red, White and Black in various specifications. Refer to data sheet (in product attachments) for more information).
